We are so proud of Jenny for passing the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Senior Management and Supervision (AF6) and moving that step closer to becoming a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Jenny is our Operations Manager, supervising all support staff and is therefore vital to the smooth running of the firm. The objectives of this very tricky coursework (which takes months and months of hard work!) are to develop the candidates’ ability to apply and evaluate supervision principles and practices in a retail financial services business.
This unit is intended for those who are, or aspire to be, a senior manager within their business and also those who wish to gain a greater insight into running a regulated business. Regulators are increasingly placing emphasis on the quality of senior management and the oversight it provides.
The study text examines these senior management responsibilities and what constitutes suitable and proportionate management controls. It includes the risks associated with different forms of organisational structure and how the business plan and strategy have a major impact on the risk profile of the firm. This module is so important as effective supervision and oversight require senior managers to understand the key risks that are faced by a firm.
Well done Jenny!
